how Moodies started

Moodies was founded by Miguel and Claire. Miguel has many years of experience in the textile industry and his own shapewear company. Claire comes from marketing and media.

Claire: "In 2020 Miguel suddenly received a pair of period pants in the post. We looked at each other: what is this? Here in the Netherlands hardly anyone had heard of it. And honestly? I really thought: this will never work. But I was also curious, so I just tried it. The first day felt quite strange, as if I had forgotten something. But after a few times I really didn't want anything else.

I had a busy job and regularly forgot to change my tampon. Suddenly I didn't have to worry about that anymore. And I immediately thought of girls getting their first period. How nice is it if you don't have to fiddle with pads that shift around?"

yes, we're doing it

We decided to start our own brand. Most of the time went into the most important part: a gusset that absorbs well, doesn't leak and still feels dry. We also wanted pants that simply look good, in styles that suit today and with enough choice for every girl and every woman. At the end of 2021 the time had come.

our mission

Periods, bladder leaks, a body that changes: it's part of life. Yet we still talk about it far too little, and that makes it unnecessarily awkward. We want to change that. Moodies breaks taboos and gives girls and women confidence in every phase. From the first period to menopause. More protection, fewer worries.

who we do it for

Our pants are for girls getting their first period, for those with heavier periods (also read our blog about this) and for women with light incontinence. Many mothers first buy Moodies for their daughter, and then for themselves too. And we're not done yet: we keep developing new products, so that even more girls and women feel confident.

washable and reusable

You wash Moodies pants and wear them again. That way you need fewer or no disposable pads and tampons. Our collection consists of bamboo and nylon styles, and some of the nylon styles contain recycled nylon. You'll find the exact material composition with each product. Having also run his own company, Nomi Shapewear, he brings valuable experience in product development and logistics. At Moodies, he's responsible for inventory management, factory collaboration, finance, and new product development. His keen eye for detail, business acumen, and practical approach make him indispensable in the brand's daily operations.

Vivienne is a true all-rounder, with over 15 years of experience in the fashion world. She started at 18 in men's fashion, progressed to women's clothing and shapewear, and since 2020 has been co-developer of Moodies' period underwear. With her role in product development, samples, inventory management, customer service and much more, she is an expert in ensuring all behind-the-scenes processes run smoothly.

Bente started her career in April 2023 with an online marketing traineeship and shortly after, in the summer, she joined the Moodies team. With a background in Creative Business and a focus on digital marketing, she has developed into the company's leading SEO expert. As a marketing project manager, she is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing the website, writing articles, seeking new collaborations and marketplaces, and delving into data analysis to continuously improve and grow.
