No. The layer that touches your skin is a Moodies mesh that lets moisture pass straight through to the absorbent layer underneath. So the moisture doesn't sit against your skin but in the core of the gusset. That gusset is 2 to 3 millimetres thick, you barely notice it. With an average flow you stay dry for 8 to 10 hours.

is it hygienic?

Yes. The fabric has had an antibacterial treatment that is not harmful to your skin and that lets you wear the underwear hygienically for 8 to 10 hours. After wearing, rinse it in cold water until the water runs clear, then wash it at 40 degrees and hang it to dry. All layers are OEKO-TEX certified and PFAS-free, tested for more than a hundred harmful substances.
