In this series, we'll take you through the four phases of your menstrual cycle and show you how to calm cravings in each phase with delicious recipes. This series was created by our intern Ilayah, under the supervision of Orthomolecular Therapist Marlon Haandrikman .
The summer of your cycle, the ovulation phase , is a time of fertility and blossoming. It's a time when your body prepares to welcome new life, and it's also a time when you often feel at your best, full of energy and radiant with confidence.
During ovulation, your body's follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels peak, triggering the release of an egg from your ovaries. This egg is ready to be fertilized and begins its journey through the fallopian tube to the uterus. Simultaneously, your estrogen levels peak, causing the uterine lining to thicken, creating an ideal environment for a fertilized egg to implant.
It's during this phase that many people experience an increase in energy and vitality. You feel radiant, full of charisma and confidence . Your libido may even be at its peak, making this time particularly suitable for romance and intimacy. Communication skills seem sharper, making it a perfect time for social interactions, perhaps even an exciting first date.
Regarding nutrition, it's advisable to choose a high-fiber diet and fewer carbohydrates during ovulation . This can help maintain your energy levels and support your digestion. And with that increased energy, you'll likely be able to exercise more intensely, so go for it and enjoy the boost you get from your natural cycle.
With that in mind, today we're sharing this delicious:
Greek Oat Pancake Recipe!
What do you need for this:

- 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet of baking powder or half a packet of baking soda
- a pinch of salt
- a cap of vanilla extract
- 1 cup oatmeal
- almond milk
- blueberries
Greek yogurt contains proteins that are essential for the construction and repair of tissues.
Oatmeal contains fiber, which can help regulate blood sugar levels.
Blueberries have a low glycemic index, meaning they break down slowly and keep blood sugar levels stable. This can help prevent spikes and dips in blood sugar, which is beneficial for hormone balance.
Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix until smooth!
Tip : If your batter is too watery, add a little more flour. If it's too thick, add a little more milk. Once the pancakes are cooked, you can serve them with powdered sugar and butter or syrup. Enjoy!
